The mystery and marvel of the
Incarnation is the inspiration of the Sisters lives, the focus of our spirituality
and the motivation of our mission, our ministry and our service.
Our spirituality, in the Ignation tradition, is rooted in the
Gospels. Here we discover the person of Jesus Christ,
the Word Made Flesh, "to whom our hearts and lives are
devoted".
Our Foundress, Frances Taylor, who later became Mother
Magdalen, understood the Incarnation, "The Word Made Flesh"
as the Father’s greatest gift to humanity. Her response to God’s
great love and self giving in the person of Jesus was her own
love and self-giving expressed in the service of the poor whom
she saw as the companions of Mary and Joseph.
From this flows the central philosophy and ethos of the
Congregation, the unique value and inherent dignity of each
person as created by God and redeemed by Jesus Christ.
Faithful to the tradition of Frances Taylor whose life of prayer,
reflection and discernment was guided by Ignation Spirituality,
the Spiritual Excercises of St Ignatius form a big part of our on
going spiritual formation and the values that guide and shape
our lives.
