Wherever the Sisters live
they are involved in their local
parishes and communities in pastoral care and catechetical
work. Many also take part in particular ministries such as prison
chaplaincy, school and university chaplaincy, work with the
homeless, refugees, asylum seekers, vulnerable women and
others in need.
The Sisters have been involved with education since
the Foundress Mother Magdalen Taylor/Frances Taylor
first opened Ragged Schools for the poor of London in
the 1860s. Many of the Sisters have taught in schools
owned and run by the Congregation in England and
Ireland. The Sisters remain on the governing bodies of
a few schools in England, they continue to run three
schools in Ireland and are involved in training and skills
education in Venezuela.
