Wherever the Sisters live
they are involved in their local
parishes and communities in pastoral care and catechetical
work. Many also take part in particular ministries such as prison
chaplaincy, school and university chaplaincy, work with the
homeless, refugees, asylum seekers, vulnerable women and
others in need.
Our service of the poor assumes many expressions.
Sisters work not only in SMG institutions but collaborate
with many other groups who seek to meet the needs of
the wider community.
Examples of collaborative projects in which SMGs are involved include:-
King’s Cross Project, London. We are one of three Congregations of Sisters who are exploring together a service for befriending women in prostitution.
The Merchant’s Quay Project, Dublin. One Sister works in the needle exchange programme of this project.
Resource Centre, Carrigtwohill, Co. Cork. We have a long tradition of collaboration with the St. Vincent de Paul Society. Currently we provide some premises and personnel for this service.
Otallo Project A new project, based in the former SMG hostel building in Euston, in collaboraqtion with Hospitaller Order of Saint John of God and The Passage to provide short term accommodation, together with training and a reconnections service for homeless workers fromn Central and eastern European countries.
Holy Redeemer home help, New Jersey. One Sister is the Pastoral Care Minister of the hospice team. This service is run by the Congregation of the Holy Redeemer.
In New Mexico a Sisters works with the St. Bonaventure
Indian Mission and school. The mission provides the
opportunity for self sufficiency through education,
employment and outreach for the people of the Navajo
Reservation.
For over 25 years Sisters have been pioneers in providing
human development in association with Church and State
agencies.

St. Gabriel’s, Pembridge Square, London, where we have a family service in partnership with the Field Lane Trust. A similar project is planned for St Philomena's, Euston Square, London.
The Sisters work with the government in the local schools in Mulutu, Mutito, Ting’ang’a, Kenya.
