Thought for the Day
from Frances Taylor
"We used to come up to London from Beaumont at Christmas. The first year we went, there was a little baby in Cavendish Square. His mother had died in Tower Hill, and Mother had offered to look after him. A postulant from Dublin took charge of him, but he cried all the time. When we came in from Beaumont, Mother put him in the Crib, and then sent us up to see the Chapel. When we saw that the baby was stirring, we ran to tell her that the baby in the Crib was alive! Mother enjoyed that very much, for she knew we didn’t know that there was a baby in the house."

One of the baptismal gifts is the sense of fun and wonderment. Do we tend to lose it with all the things we have to cope with? Pray about that.
